DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To assure the successful delivery of ITA’s products and/or services to a/v customers HOTEL TECHNICIAN will:

  • Meet or exceed the attached, published ITA Hotel Service Standards.
  • Review AV orders well in advance of event. Identify and secure needed equipment.
  • Meet with and carefully assess guest AV needs. Suggest AV appropriate to best meet needs.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with customer during the events.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in fulfilling the customer’s needs.
  • Handle problems quickly and effectively in a noninvasive manner.
  • Set cell phones to “vibrate” when meeting with others and during events.
  • Not consume alcohol or drugs, beverages or food during setup or event.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

To professionally and successfully, interact with hotel staff and the guests HOTEL TECHNICIAN will::

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times on premises: pressed slacks and shirt, tie and business coat or required uniform.
  • Respond to ALL pages and calls within 15 minutes.
  • Set and strike AV equipment in a manner that is conducive to the flow of banquet events.
  • Achieves commendable Guest Satisfaction Surveys (GSS).
  • Immediately bring all conflicts to the attention of ITA Area Management.
  • Not share or discuss ITA business and personal issues with hotel staff.
  • Willingly accommodate hotels needs during evenings and weekends.
  • Attend Banquet Event Order and pre-convention meetings according to hotel schedule if required.
  • To efficiently manage administrative responsibilities HOTEL TECHNICIAN will:
  • Create a work order whenever equipment leaves ITA storage.
  • Finalize and submit accurate AV charges daily AND ensure that bills are signed by hotel staff if required.
  • Report the hotel needs and expectations to the Area Manager.
  • Clocks in/out of Time Centre with minimal errors. Reports problems accessing Time Centre to IT Manager or Area Manager within 4 hours of problem. Certifies timesheet weekly on Monday before 10am.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work area i.e. desktop and files.
  • Utilizes the internet in an appropriate manner and limits usage to ITA business only.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and secure equipment storage area.
  • Clean equipment and check for proper working order following each use.
  • Turn “on” and/or focus AV equipment upon delivery to ensure proper working order.
  • Utilize weekly worksheets and/or daily logs to track equipment usage.
  • Transfer equipment to other assigned sites using interoffice work orders if required.
  • Send inoperable or substandard equipment to ITA headquarters for repair or replacement.
  • Utilizes and reviews security cameras daily.
  • Inventory equipment daily. Report lost, damaged or stolen equipment immediately to Area Manager. Files equipment incident reports within 24 hours.
  • Secure ITA equipment to avoid loss or damage
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree or equivalent two-year college/technical school or minimum one year of in-house audio visual experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects tolls, or controls, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. From time to time, the employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 lbs; frequently (less than 20% of the time) lift and/or move 100 lbs.
