Audio Visual Installation Technician

Job Description

Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the Design and Installation team with installation as well as troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment. This position will function as the lead tech on job sites and will be responsible for the completion of jobs. Additionally, this position will provide on-site training to other members of the installation team.

This position will also be assisting the service department perform routine maintenance and/or service on audio visual Equipment. While performing on-site work, D&I Lead technicians must provide outstanding customer service and develop working relationships with their clients.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the design and installation department to install AV equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance or service work on AV equipment
  • Configure AV equipment with manufacturer software
  • Direct installation team
  • Take leadership role while on job site
  • Provide training and development to junior technicians
  • Ensure work is completed according to company standards
  • Operate system control software
  • Maintain contact with customers in a friendly professional manner
  • Leave customer work site in a clean and orderly manner
  • Always maintain a professional appearance on the job
  • Not consume alcohol or use drugs on the job
  • Respond to customer issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain proper record keeping and care of ITA owned assets/equipment
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

  1. Knowledge of leading audio visual equipment manufacturers and control systems as well as architectural and cabling requirements.
  2. Ability to QC, maintain and operate audio visual equipment.
  3. An electrical or mechanical engineering degree, or on-the-job AV design and/or installation experience.
  4. Strong understanding of manufacturer configuration software
  5. Completion of Tech 1 training
  6. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  7. Perform other duties as required


Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to repeatedly lift and move objects weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
  2. Must be able to regularly use & work safely on ladders at heights of 12-16’.
  3. Must be able to safely operate company owned and leased vehicles, or own on company time.
  4. Crawl, kneel, able to get off floor, without assistance.
  5. Able to read instructions, computer screen—may use corrective lenses.
  6. Climb stairs, walk without assistance, see, hear, and speak
  7. Able to work under tables, desks, racks, and other confined spaces without assistance.
  8. Able to operate power tools safely.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shift
  • On-call service support once every 3 weeks with company provided phone
