Auction specialists visit seller locations to catalog equipment, capture detailed images and video, and sell assets where they sit, reducing transportation costs. Buyers benefit from a seamless, transparent, and secure process with opportunities to inspect equipment, connect with sellers, and rely on strong protections against bidding manipulations. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based in Fontana, CA. The Salesperson will identify and engage potential sellers of heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and related assets, building strong relationships and explaining Purple Waveโ€™s auction services and value proposition. Responsibilities include prospecting new business, following up on leads, conducting site visits to understand seller needs, and coordinating with auction specialists to prepare equipment for listing. The role involves managing a sales pipeline, negotiating and securing consignment agreements, and supporting sellers throughout the auction process to ensure a positive experience. The Salesperson will collaborate closely with marketing and operations teams, maintain accurate records in CRM systems, and represent Purple Wave Auction with integrity at industry events and customer meetings.

Qualifications

  • Sales and business development skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, negotiation, and closing.
  • Customer relationship management abilities, such as building trust, providing consultative support, and maintaining long-term client partnerships.
  • Knowledge of or interest in heavy equipment, agriculture, construction, or fleet vehicles, with the ability to learn technical details of equipment quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal communication, professional writing, and active listening.
  • Organizational and planning skills, including time management, territory management, and use of CRM tools to track activities and results.
  • Comfort with digital tools and online platforms used for auctions, listings, and remote communication with buyers and sellers.
  • Ability to work on-site and in the field in and around Fontana, CA, including visiting customer locations and equipment yards.
