JOB SUMMARY: The CDL Driver Recruiting Support Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for potential CDL driver candidates, taking and making calls to warm leads, qualification screening, providing essential information about our company, its opportunities, and the positions available.

As a Driver Recruiting Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive first impression, ensuring potential candidates are well-informed, qualified, and ultimately contributing to the growth of our company's driving force.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation:

  • Utilize Tenstreet ATS online database, and referrals, to review sourced potential CDL drivers

  • Initiate contact with candidates through phone calls, emails, and other communication methods to assess their interest and qualifications

  • Provide information, build rapport and influence potential drivers to drive for Stevens Transport Inc

  • Identify potential CDL drivers through various channels, including online job boards, social media, and referrals.

  • Actively engage with potential candidates to generate interest in our company and job openings.

Application Processing:

  • Review DOT, State, Local and Company requirements to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and compliance with CDL requirements.

  • Collect and review CDL driver applications to ensure they are complete and meet our minimum qualifications.

  • Verify the accuracy of information provided in applications, including driving records and employment history.

  • Communicate with applicants to request additional information or clarification when necessary.

Pre-Screening:

  • Conduct initial pre-screening interviews with CDL driver applicants to assess their qualifications and suitability for the position.

  • Evaluate candidates' DOT, criminal and employment records to ensure they meet the company's hiring criteria and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of candidate documentation and information.

Database Management:

  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of CDL driver applicants and their application status.

  • Track and report key recruitment metrics to management regularly.

  • Administer relevant tests or assessments to evaluate candidates' abilities.

  • Utilize recruitment software and databases to manage candidate data efficiently

  • Generating regular and ad-hoc reports as needed by management

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with CDL Driver Recruiters to identify the most suitable candidates for available CDL driver positions.

  • Provide support during the interview and selection process as needed.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements, including DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies

  • Scheduling and confirming interviews with Driver Recruiters

Continuous Improvement:

  • Generate and maintain accurate recruitment-related reports, including metrics on candidate sourcing, interviews, and hiring Continuously seek ways to improve the application processing and lead generation process.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in CDL driver recruitment.

Relationship Building:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and potential CDL drivers to build a strong talent network.

  • Ensuring constant communication with applicants throughout the beginning stages of the recruiting life cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment software, and related tools.

  • Strong computer and typing skills in a Windows environment, including Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls and email.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while taking initiative.

  • Capable of thriving as a team player but also driven by autonomy

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred

  • Strong knowledge of CDL requirements, FMCSA regulations, and industry standards
