Senior Jira Administrator (Atlassian Certified)

Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid)
Schedule: Onsite for the first 4 months, then Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 days remote)
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (High likelihood of extension)

We are seeking experienced Senior Jira Administrators to join a large enterprise technology team supporting a complex, enterprise-wide Atlassian environment. This role is ideal for a highly skilled Jira Administrator who enjoys collaborating with business and technical teams to design, configure, and support scalable Jira solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, administer, and support Atlassian products, primarily Jira.
  • Build and maintain custom Jira workflows, screens, permission schemes, notification schemes, dashboards, and reports.
  • Customize and optimize Jira to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and support Jira and Confluence plugins.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Atlassian platform.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and Agile teams to improve processes and workflows.
  • Support enterprise users and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with integrations, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 9 years of professional IT experience working for U.S.-based companies.
  • 4+ years of recent experience as a Jira Administrator.
  • 4+ years of recent experience supporting a commercial banking, financial services, or large brokerage environment.
  • Current Atlassian Certification in Jira Project Administration (Required).
  • Experience administering Jira in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience configuring:
  • Jira workflows
  • Permission schemes
  • Notification schemes
  • Screen schemes
  • Custom fields
  • Dashboards and reports
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence plugin administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting Atlassian applications and related infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience working within Agile environments using Scrum and Kanban.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat.
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience with Git, Subversion, or other version control systems.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Hudson, Puppet, or similar automation tools.
  • Experience with software issue tracking and enterprise application support.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.
