Tanque Verde Unified School District is seeking an Athletic Field Specialist will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the maintenance of lawns and athletic fields. This role demands specialized knowledge of athletic lawn maintenance and a strong work ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate power equipment, such as mowers, blowers, edgers, and tractors.
  • Utilize specialized equipment, including sprayers, aerators, and topdressing.
  • Apply fertilizer, seed, and other materials to turf areas.
  • Prepare and maintain athletic fields for practices and competitions.
  • Perform general landscaping duties as assigned.
  • Assist with renovations and repairs to turf areas, including sod work and overseeding.
  • Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
  • Communicate with other staff and administrators to address any concerns or issues related to athletic lawn maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated specialized knowledge of athletic turf management practices, including turf care, field preparation, and maintenance techniques specific to athletic fields.
  • Proficiency in general landscaping principles, including irrigation systems, planting, and horticultural practices.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain various power and specialized equipment used in turf management, such as mowers, blowers, tractors, sprayers, aerators, and topdressers.
