Summary
The Student Athletic Trainer will assist the certified athletic trainer in providing quality healthcare services to student-athletes. The Student Athletic Trainer will contribute with the management of sports injuries, managing practice and competition setups, and administering basic first aid. This role is a hands-on learning position for individuals exploring careers in sports medicine, physical therapy, or healthcare. All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a certified athletic trainer.
This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The student athletic trainer must possess a specific set of skills in order to assist in the everyday operation of the athletic training room. Listed below are duties specified by the certified athletic training staff which the student athletic trainer must exemplify:
- Set-up field with necessary medical equipment and supplies
- Restocking of medical supplies in both athletic training rooms
- Athlete practice and game coverage preparation including set-up, taping and bracing, stretching, and the administration of therapeutic modalities
- Assist with the inventory of both athletic training facilities
- Assist with the rehabilitation programs of student-athletes
- Assist with the data entry / filing systems of injury tracking programs
Qualifications
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
