Job description

Athletic Trainer- part time
Able to start Summer 2025
Qualifications:


 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • Graduated from a CAATE Accredited program 
  • Certified by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross equivalent
  • Licensed as an athletic trainer in the State of Indiana by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency
 
Purpose of the Position:  The Athletic Trainer works to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of Hanover Community School Corporation student-athletes. This includes building relationships with coaches, student-athletes, parents, and medical professionals to develop and maintain high-quality and comprehensive care for our student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
Supervise, maintain, and schedule the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Training Room and Training Facilities in conjunction with coaches and athletic schedules.
  • Establish and maintain a budget for athletic training supplies/equipment
  • Provide Athletic Training Service and on-site care for practices and sporting events.
 
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and laws established by Indiana Code, the IHSAA, National Athletic Trainers Association, and Hanover Community School Corporation pertaining to student-athlete care and wellbeing are communicated with coaches, families, and athletes.
  • Prepare, develop, and implement comprehensive Athletic Training Programs that provide high-quality care for our student-athletes.
  • Develop/review/update comprehensive venue and condition specific emergency action plans.
  • Develop and implement appropriate athlete intake assessments, such as IMPACT Testing, hydration testing, and weight management.
  • Educate both coaches and athletes on physical and mental wellness.
  • Maintain medical records for all athletes, following all federal, state, and local guidelines.
 
  • Develop customized treatment plans and make appropriate recommendations for student-athletes.
  • Designing preventative and rehabilitation programs for our student-athletes.
  • Provide appropriate treatment to injured students during practices and competitions
  • Maintain and inventory supplies needed for the training room as approved by the Athletic Director.
  •     Maintain and provide a safe and clean environment.
  •     Supervise the training room when used by student-athletes.
  • Appropriately communicate with all parties: parents, physicians, coaching staff, school nurse, and pertinent staff members. Maintain proper paperwork for injured athletes
  •     Perform any other duties that are assigned by the school administration.
 

 
   Length of Addendum Position
The  Athletic Trainer is responsible for all Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic programs, and maintains summer conditioning schedules as outlined by IHSAA and Hanover Summer conditioning policies.
Contract length - 210 days
