Athletic Department Assistant
Job Description:
The Athletic Department Assistant position is an ECA, part-time position requiring year round
support to Westfield Athletics. The majority of time spent will be after school hours and a few
Saturdays. Ability to meet with coaches and correspond electronically with other schools during
the school day (prep periods) as well as before and after school is also expected. Below are
some of the responsibilities:
? Event supervision 1-2 nights per week including some Fridays and Saturdays
? This includes all 3 sports seasons: Fall, Winter, and Spring
? Some events will be at away events - ex: IHSAA tournaments
? Total event supervision will be approximately 40 events per school year
? Calendar flexibility to supervise athletic events as weather or other circumstances dictate
changes
? Meet with Coaches to schedule games and practices
? Oversee social media posts for athletic teams
? Create social media posts for athletic events
? Correspond with schools on scheduling events
? Attend Athletic Department meetings 1-2 mornings per month before school
? Attend coaches meetings in the evenings, around 6 per school year
? Assist with interviewing and hiring coaches
? Learn and become proficient in the following software and technology

? Google Docs, Sheets, Slides
? Help organize, plan, and coordinate special event nights
? ex: Senior night, youth night, teacher appreciation night, etc
