RESPIRATORY THERAPIST - CLINICAL SPECIALIST

Aspirus Home Medical Equipment, Wausau, WI

Full Time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period)

Job Description:

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics, and therapy services under medical direction to patients traveling within the Wausau area to patient homes. Provides respiratory care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care. Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development, and intellectual/language development.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices as they relate to home medical equipment normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of respiratory care or school of nursing required.

  • One year of clinical experience including program and staff development and quality improvement preferred.

  • Current Wisconsin licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

  • Possesses and maintains a valid Wisconsin Driverโ€™s License required.

  • Possesses automobile liability insurance with minimum $100,000/$300,000 coverage required, or $300,000 combined single-limit liability.

  • At least 5 years of experience providing oxygen therapy services and PAP therapy services preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical and medical staff.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, trouble shoot and provide minor repair of respiratory home care equipment.
