Job description

Job Title: Senior Wireless & Industrial Connectivity Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Wireless & Industrial Connectivity Architect to drive the strategy, design, and lifecycle management of our mission-critical wireless ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of traditional IT and operational technology (OT). You will be the technical lead for designing resilient, high-density wireless networks that power everything from corporate offices to high-velocity manufacturing environments.
This is a high-impact architecture role for an engineer who excels at managing the physics of RF in complex environments while simultaneously building the automation frameworks that keep the network running. If you are a practitioner who enjoys deep-dive RF spectrum analysis as much as you enjoy writing Python scripts to automate network provisioning, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Strategy & RF Engineering
โ€ข End-to-End Design: Architect and design large-scale wireless ecosystems (Wi-Fi 6/6E, LTE/Cellular) across diverse environments. Create professional-grade RF documentation, including heat maps, capacity models, and topology designs.
โ€ข Complex RF Environments: Lead site surveys and spectrum analysis, identifying and remediating interference in high-density or "noisy" industrial zones.
โ€ข Industrial Mobility: Design and support high-availability networks for specialized operational technologies, including automated guided vehicles (AGVs), IoT sensor arrays, and barcode-intensive supply chain environments.
Network Operations & Automation
โ€ข Cloud-Managed Ecosystems: Manage and optimize cloud-native, enterprise-grade network platforms. Ensure resilient connectivity through a mix of terrestrial and satellite-based WAN solutions.
โ€ข Automated Assurance: Leverage REST APIs and scripting (Python) to automate network provisioning, configuration management, and alerting workflows. Move our infrastructure toward "Network-as-Code" standards.
โ€ข Operational Monitoring: Partner with platform/performance monitoring teams to ensure 24/7 visibility into network health, latency, and throughput.
Leadership & Governance
โ€ข Technical SME: Act as the final escalation point for the most challenging RF and wireless connectivity incidents. Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term stability improvements.
โ€ข Roadmap Development: Collaborate with IT leadership on strategic technology investments, budget forecasting, and vendor lifecycle management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
โ€ข Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
โ€ข Experience Baseline: Minimum of seven (7) years in enterprise-scale wireless network architecture and design.
โ€ข RF Engineering: Demonstrated experience conducting professional RF site surveys (using Ekahau/iBwave/AirMagnet) and troubleshooting multipath fading/interference issues.
โ€ข Core Networking: Strong grasp of TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, VLANs, and QoS; proven experience managing enterprise-grade switching/routing infrastructure.
โ€ข Tools/Compliance: Strong experience with cloud-managed enterprise wireless and device compliance platforms (e.g., Intune/Microsoft Endpoint Manager).
Preferred Attributes
โ€ข Certifications: Professional-level wireless/enterprise networking certifications (e.g., CCNP Enterprise/Wireless, or similar).
โ€ข Automation: Proficiency in Python and REST API integration; experience with Git-based version control for network configurations.
โ€ข Industrial Experience: Proven ability to align wireless standards with the specific uptime requirements of manufacturing/OT environments.
