Job description

The Mt. Laurel Office in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey is looking for a Workers’ Compensation Associate join our growing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
  2. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
  3. Represent clients in court hearings.
  4. Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases.
  5. Maintain billable hours as necessary.
  6. Manage client relationships and a caseload with supervision.
  7. Assist in the representation of clients in motion practice, conferences, and trial when and where necessary.

Position Requirements:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required.
  2. Admitted to practice law in New Jersey state court required.
  3. 3-5 years of Workers’ Compensation experience required; Must be capable of taking an existing caseload.
  4. Experience and familiarity with New Jersey State Rules of Court, New Jersey Federal Rules of Court, Rules of Evidence preferred.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
  6. Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment.

This is a hybrid position; Must be willing to work in the office on a full-time basis until transitioned fully into the role. Flexibility for some remote days thereafter is available.

Travel to court will be required if assigned to a venue mandating in-person hearings.

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$155,000 and represents C&W’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
