Job description

Election Day Worker Job Expectations
This position works the election poll sites only on Election Days and 1-2 trainings per Election.
  • Effectively communicate with voters and other Election Board Workers
  • Be able to find voter names in the Electronic Poll Book, check voter ID, and process voter
  • Escort voters to voting machines, and retrieve ballot for the voter
  • Assist voter when needed
  • Set-up polling place the morning of the Election
  • Assist in closing the polling place at the end of Election Day

Requirements
Election Day Worker Qualifications
Election workers must have the following qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen
  • 18 Years of age or older
  • Registered voter in Riley County
  • Resident of Riley County
  • Must be able to attend mandatory training
  • Work at least a 14 hour day without leaving the polling place
  • Cannot be on the ballot or related to anyone on the ballot in the precinct where appointed (except for Precinct Committeeman or Committeewoman)
