Description

SAIC is looking for an experienced Principal System Administrator in Panama City, FL for the Network Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) contract to serve as the onsite liaison and subject matter expert for the NORAD & USNORTHCOM information technology enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in virtual enterprise solutions and Windows Server and Desktop, basic networking, securing enterprise environments, Hypervisor expertise and Microsoft domain services management, along with proficiency in collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Manage and optimize VMware and/or Nutanix virtualization technologies.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols in accordance with DoD standards.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Perform system patching and updates to ensure compliance and security.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and security policies.
  • Capture, document and maintain knowledge documents and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and security.
  • Represent NITES and NORAD & USNORTHCOM HQ at the external location as the site liaison and subject matter expert.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

Requirements:

  • Security + Certification is required.
  • Expert-Level Certification is required (Security X (formally CASP+), GFACT, FITSP-O, CCNP Security, or CCSP).
  • MCSA, Asure, Linux System Administration Fundamentals, Microsoft certified: Fundamentals or equivalent.

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Top Secret/SCI is required.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator in a DoD or similarly regulated environment.
  • Strong experience with VMware/Nutanix/Microsoft virtualization technologies.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server and Desktop administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policies, and other Microsoft domain services.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows Server and Desktop administration and management.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft O365 products for project collaboration.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft Management Console, and other Microsoft management tools.
  • Understanding DoD compliance requirements and cybersecurity standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately document.

Certifications (optional but preferred):
