Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking highly skilled and motivated software engineering professionals to work in a dynamic classified environment to help us provide world class cloud solutions in support of programs that are critical to our national defense. Successful candidates will join a development team in Ground Software and Image Science discipline, directly supporting solutions developed by L3Harris's Space Ground Solutions (SGS) Group.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess, troubleshoot, and triage deployed software in operational environments 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications using Java, C++, Python.
  • Support software deployment, integration, and sustainment activities in Linux environments 
  • Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system integration problems 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and mission teams to deliver reliable software capabilities 
  • Support debugging, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for fielded systems 
  • Participate in software design, code reviews, testing, and configuration management processes 
  • Ensure software solutions meet mission, security, and performance requirements 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field and relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a mission-focused team environment 
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience assessing and triaging deployed software in operational or production environments 
  • Proficiency in Java, C++ or Python software development 
  • Experience working in Linux environments 
  • Experience deploying or supporting applications in Kubernetes environments 
  • Experience supporting DoD, IC, or other national security mission environments 
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the states of New York and Florida is $74,500-$138,500. The salary range for this role in Virginia (Greater Washington, D.C. Area) is $86,000-$160,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
