The Associate Product Manager in assisting with shaping the individual product requirements in support of an existing product strategy. This individual is accountable for assisting other product managers in the full product lifecycle from ideation to end-to-end life. The Associate Product Manager is responsible for relevant, specific product feature requirements on existing products, with limited interaction with net new products. This individual works with Scrum Master and agile team on backlog grooming and ensures timely decision-making on product requirement trade-offs. The Associate Product Manager has oversight from product management leaders, will learn the process, and is responsible for collecting and defining basic product requirements, writing user stories, etc.

  • Conducts routine tasks as directed
  • Operates with moderate supervision, and detailed instructions on new work. Little latitude for independent judgment
  • Uses existing procedures to complete routine/basic assignments

Product Knowledge

  • Learns new concepts and skills by completing work assignments
  • Expands knowledge about the industry, and customers, org. to capture internal/external requirements

Leadership

  • Displays the aptitude to lead product requirements, works daily with an agile team & defines user stories and Features (Epics)
  • Successful execution has an impact on specific product features and related customer & business outcomes
  • Has limited impact on commitments & issues can be overcome without significant disruption to the business

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Help create user stories based on established product vision & features (epics) to deliver differentiated customer outcomes
  • Assist in the backlog management for sprint teams, partnering with R&D /scrum master in prioritization of user backlog, supporting full lifecycle from definition, beta, showcase, & retrospective
  • Work with other CDK product managers and product marketing to articulate the value proposition for user stories
  • Learn the key product success metrics (e.g. adoption, profitability, NPS, market share growth) & how they relate to user stories & features (epics)
  • Invest in gaining functional expertise & SME through training and partnering with more experienced CDK product managers
  • Help create user stories based on established product vision & features (epics) to deliver differentiated customer outcomes
  • Assist in the backlog management for sprint teams, partnering with R&D / scrum master in prioritization of user backlog, supporting full lifecycle from definition, beta, showcase, & retrospective.
  • Work with other CDK product managers and product marketing to articulate the value proposition for user stories

Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 1-year related work experience or relevant internship as a product owner, or product manager
  • Experience in Agile software/DevOps methodologies & working with globally distributed teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 1+ years of Product Owner or Product Management and/or equivalent experience: internships or education
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to take on new challenges in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to break complex ideas into actionable tasks
  • Limited travel

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
