JOB SUMMARY: 

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in new product innovation and a forward-thinking approach to front-end innovation. As a Scientist Product Development, you will be responsible for creating and developing new and improved baby food products that cater to the needs of parents while addressing the nutritional requirements and taste preferences of infants, toddlers, and young children. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of current trends in baby food and a genuine passion for developing nutritious and appealing options for our youngest consumers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, research and development, and quality assurance, to build and execute product development strategies.
  • Conduct research to stay current with trends in cooking techniques, ingredients, cuisines, and baby food.
  • Assess the market and competitors to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Lead food inspiration showcases to generate ideas for the product pipeline.
  • Engage in idea generation and concept development, creating prototypes.
  • Create innovative and appealing baby food recipes that meet nutritional guidelines and taste preferences.
  • Develop gold standards for new products, translating them into key sensory attributes and criteria.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer testing, applying insights to product adjustments and reformulations.
  • Work with procurement and vendors to source high-quality ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food safety and labeling regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, formulations, and product specifications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional stakeholders, including sales and marketing teams.
  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Knowledge):    

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, culinary science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in product development, preferably in the baby food industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, cuisines, and trends in the nutrition market. 
  • Proven track record of developing successful and innovative food products. 
  • Understanding of nutritional guidelines and requirements.
  • Experience in conducting sensory evaluations and consumer testing. 
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and labeling requirements. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to think creatively and generate new ideas for product development. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and specifications. 
  • Ability to provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders. 
  • Passion for creating nutritious and appealing food options for young consumers.
