Job description

The Associate Renewal Account Manager owns and executes the renewal strategy for a portfolio of existing customers to drive critical revenue retention outcomes. Operating as the primary commercial point of contact, this role exercises strategic judgment during negotiations and coordinates cross-functional resources to secure recurring revenue. Candidates will thrive in a hybrid work environment located in either the Metro Austin, Texas or Metro Boston, Massachusetts areas.
About the Team
The Renewal Account Management team secures Rapid7's recurring revenue and customer retention strategy by building sustainable commercial partnerships. The team analyzes account performance data to accurately forecast renewal outcomes, prioritize customer engagement, and mitigate account risk. By working closely with internal stakeholders, the team ensures a seamless, consultative renewal experience that supports long-term customer satisfaction and business growth.
About the Role
As an Associate Renewal Account Manager, your primary responsibility will be to independently manage the full renewal lifecycle and coordinate cross-functional resources to maximize account retention. Specifically, your focus will be to:
  • Manage and execute the full renewal lifecycle for assigned accounts to ensure timely contract completion.
  • Negotiate contract terms and coordinate internal approvals for renewals and amendments while balancing company objectives.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned customers regarding renewal, upsell, and pricing matters.
  • Conduct renewal review calls to provide consultative guidance based on customer goals and budget cycles.
  • Identify and qualify upsell or cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts to support expansion strategies.
  • Prepare accurate renewal forecasts using Salesforce, Clari, and internal reporting tools while maintaining detailed account records
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Channel, and Finance to deliver seamless customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leadership on renewal playbooks, workflows, and best practices to improve customer retention processes.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
  • 1+ years of experience in software as a service renewals or account management with measurable success against retention targets.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and other customer relationship management systems.
  • Experience or familiarity within the cybersecurity or technology industry sector.

The salary range for this role in the US is:
$59,500.00 - 80,500.00 USD Annual
