Job description

Title: Director of Information Technology

Location: Pendergrass, GA

Reports to: President

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Information Technology to lead our technology operations, cybersecurity posture, infrastructure, and digital/AI transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking IT leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and can align technology with business goals to drive growth, efficiency, and innovation in a leading construction equipment manufacturing and distribution organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy and long-term technology roadmap.
  • Oversee daily IT operations, including networks, servers, cloud environments, and enterprise applications.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including threat monitoring, incident response, compliance, and risk management.
  • Manage and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements.
  • Build and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments and strong ROI.
  • Lead major IT projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, ERP/CRM implementations, and security enhancements.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all critical systems.
  • Maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, company JSOX requirements and parent company rules.
  • Champion change management and user adoption across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Oversee the management of corporate help desk activities and resolve escalated issues if necessary

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8–12+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership roles. Manufacturing and distribution experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), cybersecurity, enterprise applications and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CISSP, CISM, or similar security certifications
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect)
