Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer – Azure & AWS Cloud Position Summary

We are seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer with hands‑on experience in Azure and AWS cloud security. This role will support cloud security operations, vulnerability management, identity and access controls, incident response, and compliance readiness activities. The ideal candidate should be technical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across both cloud and traditional IT environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure and monitor Azure and AWS cloud environments.
  • Configure and support cloud security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch.
  • Manage identity and access controls, including Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, Azure RBAC, and AWS IAM.
  • Support vulnerability scanning, risk remediation, patch validation, and security hardening.
  • Investigate security alerts and assist with incident response activities.
  • Support Microsoft 365 security, endpoint protection, firewall rules, VPN access, and logging.
  • Assist with compliance efforts related to NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP, or GovRAMP.
  • Prepare security documentation, findings, remediation plans, and audit evidence.
  • Work with IT, cloud, and compliance teams to improve overall security posture.
Required Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, systems administration, or infrastructure security.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure and AWS security services.
  • Knowledge of IAM, MFA, RBAC, least privilege, logging, monitoring, and cloud networking.
  • Experience with vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, EDR/XDR, Microsoft 365 security, and endpoint protection tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an MSP, MSSP, consulting, or client‑facing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and CloudTrail.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP, or GovRAMP.
  • Basic scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, or AWS CLI.
