PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE - THE UPS STORE, (McKinney, TX 75071) THE UPS STORE, INC. together comprise approximately 4,800 independently owned locations in the U.S., providing convenient and value-added business services to our consumers. Our store offers a variety of shipping, packing, printing, postal, document and business services, with world-class service. The strength our THE UPS STORE, comes, in part, from the talented and dedicated associates that lead and operate our store. We endeavor to be the best in every aspect of business by promoting a culture of trust, teamwork, accountability, high expectations and open communication.  We are looking for a part-time or full-time associate to work 15 to 37 hours a week, will offer a flexible schedule that can accommodate you to work another job or attend college. Also would be great for retired/semi-retired individual!
The Sales Associate is responsible to selling products and services and delivering world-class customer service to all retail customers. He/She receives and processes packages for courier shipping, packaging services, assists with processing returns, produces and/or assists customers with their printing needs, operates copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale terminal.   

The Sales Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options. The Sales Associate exhibits confidence by knowing best practices as related to the industry.  The ideal Sales Associate candidate will have retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma/GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, a professional appearance, and will be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.  Applicants preferably live in McKinney, Texas or surrounding communities such as Plano, McKinney, or Frisco.

The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

-- Deliver outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries

-- Continuously practice good listening skills with customers and UPS Store team members, and leadership

-- Take ownership of the customer's needs and up-sell and cross-sell solutions from our Product and Services offerings
Requirements:

  • Strong computer, internet, and social media skills to include Microsoft office suite, and internet explorer
  • Outstanding phone skills
  • High school diploma required
  • Strong verbal/written skills, to include spelling and math
  • Prompt, reliable, and responsible
  • Strong selling skills with the ability to cross sell and up sell
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Ability of meeting sales goals
  • Ability to work and complete tasks independently in a quick turn environment
  • High Energy Level
  • Knowledge and application of printing concepts (preferred)
  • Capable of lifting a 70 pound package
  • One - Two years of retail/customer service experience
  • Excellent attendance record at your previous job(s)

The following skills are a Plus for the job:

  • Have advanced knowledge and application of printing skills including selling, servicing and graphics design
  • Have a current Texas Notary Public commission
  • Have fluent Spanish-speaking skills
  • Work for or previously worked for a retail shipping store such as FedEx Kinko's, Office Depot, Staples or a The UPS Store / MBE location
  • Work for or previously worked for a printing company.
  • Currently in school for graphics design and would like some hands on experience with printing such as photo shop, office publisher and other printing/ publishing software
