Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing moderately complex strategic account projects (customer, affiliate, recall, etc.) from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. This role leads and coordinates service deployments for key strategic customers while serving as the primary client-facing representative, maintaining customer satisfaction, contract compliance, and operational excellence. The Project Manager also coordinates project activities supporting facilities management and mechanical equipment lifecycle initiatives, while developing Team Leads and promoting leadership growth, accountability, and collaboration. While supporting data center operations, the role primarily focuses on administrative, leadership, and client relationship management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring consistent communication, alignment of goals, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead regular client meetings to review performance, KPIs, and project updates.
  • Address escalations promptly and implement corrective actions to maintain client trust and confidence.
  • Takes ownership for validating the projectโ€™s statement of work and contract terms with the client, including both technical and commercial elements, and is the lead contact for the client.
  • Develops a schedule and communicates with the client to ensure expectations are being met. Direct engagement with client maintenance planning teams and third-party vendors. (Project Planning).

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and coach Team Leads to strengthen their leadership skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Team Leads to review progress, provide feedback, and set development goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and integrity across the team.
  • Assist in workforce planning, including scheduling, task delegation, and succession planning.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure that all team activities align with client expectations, contractual requirements, and company standards.
  • Oversee Team Leads in monitoring site operations, safety compliance, and day-to-day team management.
  • Support cross-training initiatives to reduce knowledge silos and promote operational resilience.

Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of site activities, staffing levels, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and present monthly or quarterly business reviews for the client and internal leadership.
  • Manage documentation of policies, standard operating procedures, and escalation processes.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Support rollout of company-wide initiatives within the data center environment.
  • Coordinate with leadership on long-term planning and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience serving as a project team lead, project manager, facilities manager, or in a related leadership role, preferably within a data center environment.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical power distribution equipment and its application in mission-critical environments, including switchgear, UPS systems, fire and security systems, and other building systems. Demonstrates strong practical knowledge of data center infrastructure, with the ability to interpret and review one-line and three-line electrical drawings.
  • Led project planning and execution for facility improvements and mechanical equipment installations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop Supervisors or Team Leads. Experience guiding and developing project teams to drive performance improvements and achieve measurable results.
  • Strong client-facing skills with a solid background in customer service, relationship management, and conflict resolution. Effectively resolves issues through direct client engagement, resulting in positive feedback and strengthened long-term relationships.
  • Strong technical acumen with familiarity in data center operations and facility systems preferred. Working knowledge of building and IT infrastructure systems, including but not limited to medium-voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, fire and security systems, as well as cooling and heating systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both clients and internal team members.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with expertise in reporting and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, as well as other computer tools and software commonly used for project management, data analysis, and team collaboration.
  • Certifications: EPA-608 Universal, OSHA 10, OSHA 30; PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred but not required.

Additional Information:

Location: McCarran / Sparks, Nevada; Hours: Full-time, primarily business hours with flexibility for occasional overtime to include client meetings or escalations; Work Environment: Office-based within a data center environment with periodic floor walks; Travel: Very Limited, depending on client or project needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driverโ€™s license for work-related travel, as required

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure
The base salary range for this role is $80,000 per year. This range reflects a goodโ€‘faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by jobโ€‘related factors consistent with applicable law.
