The Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for an Associate Project Manager (APM) to join our team in Electrification and Automation (EA) and Protection and Automation (P&A) Team. This role is based out of Wendell, NC., with remote opportunity.
You'll make an impact by:
As an APM, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Management team for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. The APM role comes with ample opportunities for growth, reflective of Siemens mission to empower people with a growth mindset.
  • Support the Project Manager across all project phases, including milestone deliverables, documentation, case management, financial tracking, and ensuring overall project progress from initiation through closeout.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Care team to develop use cases that support project acceptance and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and deliver monthly status reports, customer progress updates, change proposals, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Lead and drive final customer acceptance milestones, ensuring completion of all required documentation, equipment acceptance, and financial closeout requirements.
  • Coordinate development and maintenance of project schedules, aligning with project and site teams to identify and manage time-sensitive needs.
  • Track project resources and progress; participate in and, when needed, lead customer meetings while capturing detailed notes throughout all project phases-from kickoff through punch list completion.
  • Capture and manage punch lists from site commissioning, driving closure through cross-functional coordination with Siemens field service technicians, Customer Care, project managers, factory personnel, and vendors; provide regular updates to customers and site teams.
  • Coordinate onboarding/orientation of field service technicians with Customer Care, ensuring they are equipped with all necessary project documentation (scope of work, drawings, specifications, engineered drawings, and project contacts) and prepared ahead of site visits.
  • Schedule project-specific commissioning resources, provide required documentation, and ensure readiness of all field personnel prior to site execution.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Project management or engineering internship work experience
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States
  • 10% Travel required (national and international)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor of Business Administration preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

The pay range for this position is $50,337 - $86,292 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
