Job Overview
The Associate Project Manager plays a key role in executing assigned Engineering tasks. This includes supporting the day-to-day operations within the capital project lifecycle, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, documentation, procurement, and cost accounting, are proactively managed and reported.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Engineering Project Managers in scope, budget, schedule, and communication management.
  • Support Capital Project Engineering and stakeholders in creation, submittal, monitoring, and execution of capital requests. Enter approved capital requests in system and create project.
  • Maintain project schedules, monitor task progress and identify/escalate schedule risk.
  • Assist in budget work breakdown schedules (WBS), RFP/bid cycles, financial forecasting, cost accounting, and variance reporting of actual versus estimated costs.
  • Maintain dashboards, status updates, and standardized reporting for stakeholder visibility.
  • Escalate identified risks to scope, schedule, and budget to proper stakeholders for mitigation.
  • Identify long-lead equipment and support early procurement planning.
  • Generate purchase requisitions / purchase orders, monitor delivery, receive against budget, report on projected vs. actual costs, and verify against scope and percentage completion.
  • Maintain change order approvals with proper documentation and budget adjustments.
  • Support contractor onboarding, scope clarification, and field coordination project progress against schedule and deliverables.
  • Assist project team with updating of project registers (risk, action items list, et al.)
  • Assist project team with documentation to ensure proper archiving, turnover and closure.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with external vendors, and within the organization.

Min. Qualifications
  • Minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, business, or financial field preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in project management, or related activity or coordination preferred.
  • Experience working in a multi-site manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with construction, engineering, or procurement practices preferred.
