Job description

Position Summary

As an Associate Project Engineer, you will gain an understanding of the scope and requirements of the varied Easi-Set precast products. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and modifying drawings per specifications and customer requirements. Prepare/maintain accurate catalog of drawings, electronic files, and digital library for website. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for Easi-Set licensed products and processes.

Essential Functions

  • Develop detailed 2D/3D shop drawings and models using CAD/BIM software.
  • Generate shop drawings from architectural, structural, and contract documents with full constructability consideration.
  • Produce accurate, production-ready drawings to support fabrication, casting, and erection.
  • Apply working knowledge of precast concrete design, manufacturing processes, and production methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and licensed producers to ensure drawings are complete, coordinated, and fabrication-ready.
  • Interface with engineers, architects, and specifiers to resolve technical requirements and design details for Easi-Set products.
  • Apply industry standards and best practices to optimize design efficiency, manufacturability, and project execution.
  • Initialize project setups and maintain contract documentation within project management systems.
  • Manage submittal workflows, including review, distribution, tracking, and status reporting.
  • Maintain and update project documentation and digital records for accuracy and traceability.
  • Identify and coordinate resolution of design and production-related issues.
  • Lead and coordinate D&E team activities to ensure alignment, communication, and timely deliverables.
  • Manage multiple projects to meet established schedules, milestones, and quality expectations.
  • Review and validate sketches, drawings, and engineering data for compliance with design intent and project requirements.
  • Support evaluation and development of new product concepts, materials, and design approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements.
  • Execute special assignments and additional technical duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred; technical or trade school degree considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with CAD/BIM platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Tekla Structures).
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, structural systems, and/or precast concrete applications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop engineering drawings, civil plans, and technical sketches.
  • Experience reviewing contract drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data tracking and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute assigned projects on schedule with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers, project managers, customers, and field personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable to evolving project requirements, design revisions, and process improvements.
