Job description

SUMMARY

The Department of Modern Languages invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Spanish to begin Fall 2026. This in-person position requires a dynamic, student-centered educator committed to innovative undergraduate teaching and research. The area of specialization is open. Faculty are expected to integrate faith into teaching and actively contribute to departmental, university, and community service.

Palm Beach Atlantic University is a comprehensive Christian university whose mission is to equip students to grow in wisdom, lead with conviction, and serve God boldly, emphasizing moral, spiritual, and intellectual development.

POSITION DETAILS

The position is a full-time role, with starting date in July/August 2026.

STATUS

EDUCATION

ABD or Master’s Degree in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, or related field required; Ph.D., preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the discipline. 
  • Prior collegiate-level teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and community engagement.
  • Experience teaching in Spanish for Heritage Speakers and Spanish for the Professions courses preferred. 
  • Demonstrated research and publication record required.
  • Demonstrated Christian commitment and ability to integrate faith into coursework.
