Position Information
Position Title Assistant Professor of Music Job Description
The Department of Fine Arts is currently seeking a qualified Assistant Professor of Music to serve as a tenure-track, nine-month faculty member in music with significant experience performing and teaching trumpet and horn.
The successful candidate will teach an equivalent of 12 hours in applied lessons, methods classes, and lectures. Candidates are expected to recruit, prepare trumpet and horn students for recitals and juries, advise students, engage in departmental, university and community partnerships, and engage in scholarly research and funding opportunities.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or D.M.A from a NASM accredited institution, or ABD
At least 2 years teaching experience
Evidence of mastery in trumpet or horn performance by providing links to video of performance and teaching
1-2 page statement of personal teaching philosophy

Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in teaching one of the following: music history and literature, music theory, aural skills, or recording technology.
Physical Demands
Ability to walk a flight of stairs; Ability to carry 10 lbs
