Miami University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Music Education to join an evolving music program committed to excellence in teaching, collaborating, and innovation.

The successful candidate will:

• Teach undergraduate music education courses as assigned, including foundational coursework such as Introduction to Music Education and instrumental method courses.
• Additional courses outside of the area of music education may be assigned based on departmental priorities and the candidate’s expertise and interests.
• Supervise student teachers and coordinate clinical experiences in public school settings.
• Advise undergraduate students and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
• Serve as faculty advisor for the Collegiate NAfME chapter.
• Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Miami University’s music program is undergoing exciting growth, including the launch of a Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry with tracks in Music Production and Music Business. • Master of Music or Master of Music Education by date of appointment.
• Doctorate in Music Education (ABD candidates will be considered).
• Demonstrated success teaching music education at the collegiate level.
• Experience with curriculum development or program coordination.
• A student-centered approach to teaching and mentoring.
• Minimum of three years of successful K–12 instrumental teaching experience.
