Position Summary:
Based in Durham, NC, the Production Supervisor is a key member of the operations leadership team supporting our IPS Adhesives Operating Company. In this role the supervisor will provide direction, coaching, and technical expertise to the associates. This includes building and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement. They will also actively manage their assigned team to safely deliver a quality product, on time, to meet customer demand. This position will be expected to work 6 am - 2:30 pm EST Monday through Friday. Additional hours including Saturdays will be required at times based on business needs. This is an exempt/salaried position.
Expected Results and Accountabilities:
  • Ensures a safe and clean work environment by educating and guiding personnel on using all equipment, resources, and 5S tools while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Conducts daily standup meetings to communicate and reinforce safety protocols, quality issues, delivery goals, inventory constraints, and personnel requirements.
  • Reviews job expectations; plan, monitor, and evaluate job results; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems and policy procedures.
  • Provides support in being a hands-on contributor supervisor when needed
  • Utilizes MRP data to plan, monitor, and track all inventory and production activity.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees to foster personal growth opportunities.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results through the Lean Daily Management Process.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing continuous improvement change.
  • Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage and approve employee timecards in Paycom.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Experience:
  • 2+ Years of manufacturing leadership experience
  • High School Degree or GED equivalent
  • Intermediate-Advanced skills in Excel with experience creating pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.
  • Experience using MRP systems (JD Edwards preferred)
  • Proven metric-driven experience with inventory management
  • Experience developing metric-driven execution strategies to reach short/long-term goals.
  • Demonstrated success in guiding a team of employees to achieve the objectives for their area of responsibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulatory language, industry-specific terms, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as production demand requires
  • Able to adjust the process variables to maintain quality production, adjust to changes in workflow, and prioritize as needed to meet deadlines

Preferred Experience:
  • Intermediate written/spoken Spanish is preferred
