Job Title: Associate Operator
Location: Belvidere, NJ 07823
Duration: 6 Months
Pay rate: $23.50/hour on W2

Job description:
1. Responsible for operating blending/packaging/storage tank equipment related to material handling and movements within the production operations in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and production schedules.
2. Responsible for operating and monitoring equipment and process to produce quality chemical intermediates and finished products to a pre-determined operations plan. Provides troubleshooting expertise. Identifies equipment/process problems/ improvement opportunities and communicates findings as appropriate. Makes necessary adjustments to react to process changes or to optimize process performance.
Position context:
1. The Optima Process is a multi-product spray dry facility which produces food and infant grade dry beadlet forms of various fat-soluble vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids. The Optima products fall within 5 product families: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Rocoat Vitamin B products, and Omega 3 fatty acids such as Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) and Arachidonic Acid (ARA).
2. Certifications of the plant include ISO 9001 / 14001; OU Kosher;
3. This position is overtime eligible. The schedule may be structured with a required overtime component built in. Candidates must be able to work shifts, weekends, overtime (including coverage) and holidays as required. All candidates, both internal and external, applying for this position understand that overtime may be required and adjusted based on business needs and to ensure continued safe operations.
Education:
High School Diploma
Authorities:
1. Receives frequent direction from Supervisor or other functional supervision.
2. Works independently to complete tasks based on knowledge of materials, procedures and records required for assigned work area.
3. May provide leadership to coordinate completion of tasks, e.g., loading trucks, prioritizing activities to meet the production schedule, storing materials, in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
4. Has the authority to cease operations if there is a perceived quality or SHE related issue.
Complexity of the position:
1. Sets own priorities to assure production schedule is maintained with multiple production lines in operation. This requires decisions on which line to focus on and whether loading more material or packaging will take priority and management of movement of materials.
2. Performs equipment reliability troubleshooting and minor maintenance.
3. Performs inspections and cleaning of equipment to assure product integrity.
4. Troubleshoots production and packaging operations due to quality issues.
