 Essential Function

 The Skin Pro Advisor (SPA) is a dynamic advocate for the art of beauty and business driving growth across skincare. The SPA will champion technical expertise, social media engagement, and selling strategies. In addition to fulfilling daily sales associate responsibilities, the SPA plays a pivotal role in shaping customer buying behaviors through the Skincare Solution Center, fostering increased customer retention and building loyalty.

This role is instrumental in building lasting relationships and influencing behaviors that expand brand awareness and skincare market share. This will be done through conducting market analysis, selling approved beauty products, introducing new innovative concepts, providing World Class customer service, and facilitating product education both in store and virtually.

The SPA provides skincare consulting services to professional beauty customers, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed cosmetologists or estheticians. The SPAs primary focus is driving the skincare business and may also be assigned other routine store duties as needed.

Primary Duties

 Grow the Business - Accountable to meet or exceed established metrics, skincare category growth goals, as well as other standards and expectations that may be created.

  • Provide an optimal customer experience and create customer retention by utilizing our selling behaviors, company sales directives, and omni-channel. Deliver behaviors consistent with driving desired client survey scores and reviews.
  • Determine customer skincare related needs and offer professional advice and recommendations to ensure the customer has the knowledge and products needed to meet their personal and client needs. The SPA will drive overall SMG survey scores by providing product knowledge and recommendations.
  • Aim to introduce every customer to the skincare category, providing consultations, and utilizing selling skills - establishing CosmoProf as a growing resource for estheticians. Use and promote Cosmo Prof brands of skincare. Be part of something bigger by driving in-store events and partnerships with local cosmetology schools.
  • Establish technical expertise pertaining to products and programs offered at CosmoProf. Utilize social media to drive business and market CosmoProf as the Best Place to Work, Shop & Experience. Responsible for promoting SPA vendor sponsored products, new product launches and Legacy events, along with CosmoProf digital and live education.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer concerns and questions are resolved in a timely, appropriate, and effective manner. Along with the Store Manager, the SPA is a key point of contact for customers to resolve questions, issues, or disputes in the categories of skincare.
  • Maintain a high standard of skincare merchandising, placement, store signage, and proper display techniques to ensure the brand guidelines of an inviting atmosphere for customers. Coordinates the Company's special promotion activities in this category. Assists with inventory accuracy with inventory adjustments and cycle counts in store, keeping shelves stocked, and monitoring turn of skincare products. Familiar with emerging trends and products and shares the information with associates, customers, and Support Center partners.
  • Initiate business relationships that gain customers' trust and confidence so that selling and customer service can be delivered more effectively. Utilize purposeful and effective cold-calling techniques to generate new customers.
  • Strictly comply with established procedures regarding the processing of returns and/or approved conversions.
  • Timely completion of assignments and projects that may be assigned.
  • Strictly comply with company safety procedures - city, state and federal laws.
  • When applicable, follows all store opening and closing procedures correctly.

Grow Team and Culture - Communicate upward and cross functionally regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans, and any assistance needed. Attend all training calls, meetings, functions and events and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.

  • Conduct effective basic in-store/salon and virtual education.
  • Be the Category expert in Skincare, sharing information with team and customers.
  • Conducts periodic meetings to keep employees informed of relevant color and care education and updates.

Experience and Skills Required

One year retail or other sales -focused experience'

Licensed cosmetologist/esthetician highly preferred

Reliable transportation to effectively service designated store and market. Ability to travel to shows and/or sales meetings a minimum of 3 times a year.

Strong business acumen and ability to read, interpret, and action on pertinent sales reporting.

Working knowledge of retail sales, inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of POS applications.

Comprehensive knowledge of computers, iPads, mobile devices and social media platforms.

Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs.

May be required to work in other stores and in field at times.

Strong time management and organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Ability to present a professional image and interact positively with the public.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, at all levels within and outside the organization.

Must pass Skincare Certification Test within 60 days of hire to remain in position

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc.
