Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and managerial oversight to the IT Support Technician staff.
  • Serve as the on-site escalation point for IT Support Technicians, resolving issues that exceed Tier 1 scope.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor helpdesk tickets and project work, and coach technicians through training and knowledge transfer on IT systems, operational procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures, service-level expectations, and documentation standards for the IT team, incorporating project management methodologies when applicable.
  • Partner with the IT Director on hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and scheduling for the technician team, and oversee documentation of resolutions, processes, and procedures within the knowledge base.
Operations, Network & Support
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations across the central office and multiple campuses, ensuring hardware, software, and infrastructure remain fully operational.
  • Manage and administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and identity/access management.
  • Work within Active Directory and Entra ID to create, change, and delete user accounts and maintain security groups and licensing.
  • Deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain wired network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls) and wireless infrastructure across all campuses.
  • Oversee Wi‑Fi coverage, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and basic firewall configurations to support services, events, and office operations in accordance with established security standards.
  • Manage and maintain the Azure cloud infrastructure supporting Rock ChMS, including virtual machines, storage, backups, and related services.
  • Manage endpoint protection, MDM (Mosyle), and device inventory to maintain a secure and well‑documented IT environment.
  • Regularly meet with ministries and departments to identify technical needs and propose practical, implementable solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members, departments, and vendors to develop technical solutions supporting ministry projects and day-to-day initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day collaboration with Victory’s Managed Service Provider (MSP), as well as IT vendor and ISP relationships, ensuring accountability, competency, and performance.
  • Research, test, and roll out new technologies, processes, and automations to enhance the quality of IT services provided to staff.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor (4-year) degree with a technical major such as engineering, information technology, or computer science preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive IT support or administration experience, including exposure to team lead or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Reliable Transportation Required (travel between campuses as needed).
  • Ability to coordinate and maintain a variety of projects with great independence.

COMPUTER / SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficient with networking concepts and hands‑on configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID) and Azure cloud administration (virtual machines, storage, networking, and backups).
  • Ability to work within Windows Active Directory
  • Knowledge of MacOS and Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with MDM platforms (Mosyle or similar); working knowledge of a Church Management System (ChMS) such as Rock RMS is a definite PLUS.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft 365 Certified, or similar are a definite PLUS.

Additional Information PURPOSE

The Associate IT Director serves as the on‑site operational leader of the IT department, overseeing day‑to‑day IT support, network and wireless infrastructure, the Microsoft 365 environment, and the Azure cloud infrastructure that supports Rock ChMS across Victory Church’s campuses. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with managerial guidance, providing direct leadership of the IT Support Technician team, serving as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, and partnering with Victory’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery to staff and ministries. Reporting to the IT Director, the Lead Associate IT Director drives the reliable performance and continuous improvement of Victory’s technology environment in order to support the vision and mission of Victory Church.
