Job description

The Associate II, Bursar will work directly with the learners to ensure the accuracy of all learner accounts. The incumbent will coordinate payments with learners, and maintain all payment and fee information for the learner to help support their completion of the program. The Associate II, Bursar will serve as the first point of contact for Associate I, Bursar, and escalated learner concerns.ย ย 

  • Coordinates with learners to maintain on-time payments of tuition and feesย ย 

  • Posts payments from all funding sources into the ledgerย ย 

  • Posts relevant fees manually into the student information system (SIS)ย 

  • Updates learner accounts to reflect refundsย 

  • Manage and process learner ledger credits through stipend payments.ย 

  • Updates the SIS to reflect payments and ensure the accuracy of the ledgerย ย 

  • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they ariseย 

  • Some college is required an associate degree in accounting/finance from an accredited institution is preferredย 

  • Demonstrated at least two years of experience as an Associate Bursarย 

  • Demonstrated two years of experience with entry-level or basic Accounting/Finance is requiredย 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications is requiredย 

  • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals are requiredย 

  • Demonstrated one year of experience in the customer service field is strongly preferredย 

  • Demonstrated ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, graphs are preferredย ย 

  • Some experience at a higher institution of learning preferredย 

  • Some experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable is preferredย
