Job description

We are currently looking to fill a Full-time Human Resource Generalist position on First/Second Shift at our Bluffton, Ohio Manufacturing Facility. This role manages the daily HR functions of First/Second shift operations, responding timely to and meeting the day-to-day needs of the Associates at SumiRiko Ohio, Inc. The HR Generalist is expected to provide support to the various levels of management to promote, implement, and enforce SRK-OH’s basic philosophies and policies outlined in the Associate Handbook. The HR Generalist meets the needs of the organization through reliability, accuracy and consistency. Onsite position in open office environment with split shift hours to support First and Second Shift.

Essential Functions

  • Serve the day-to-day needs of the Associates.
  • Communicate with all levels of management on matters related to Associate needs and conduct.
  • Work in conjunction with supervisors to maintain decorum throughout the plant.
  • Meet goals outlined in annual HR Goal Setting.
  • Resolve attendance issues in a timely manner.
  • Work in cooperation with the Safety and HR team to ensure the health and wellness of SRK-OH Associates.
  • Take an active role in the initial and continued training of SRK-OH Trainees.
  • Assist in SRK-OH’s various annual special events.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Take an active role in the coordination of manufacturing manpower needs with relation to recruiting, training, and retention.
  • Create an open, comfortable, and welcoming environment in HR.
  • Respond to Associate inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Continue HR education through seminars, classes, and training sessions.
  • Work with service vendors as necessary to assist with associate leaves/benefits/education.
  • Assist Team Leaders and Supervisors with necessary corrective/coaching action.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and a strong will to satisfy our customers.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested.

Job Responsibilities and Information

  • Human Resources Generalists are generally the first point of contact between Associates and upper management. It is imperative that the HR department promotes and practices SRK-OH’s open-door policy.
  • The Associates’ day-to-day needs are the crux of a HR Generalist’s duties. Responding to Associates’ needs quickly and accurately ensures their faith in the HR department, and in SRK-OH.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in HR, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • 3+ years of previous HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters.
  • Preferred proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS (ADP ServiceNow) and talent management systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Must possess advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of FMLA and EOE guidelines.

Salary is dependent upon academic background, experience and accomplishments.
