AETA is looking for a self-driven and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who has a strong business acumen and embodies an ownership mentality. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and scientist, project managers, CAD designers, and other staff to service our US based clients' needs. This role will establish client relationships, define client needs, develop winning strategies, prepare proposals, and manage the development, design and permitting of a wide range of projects related to power systems, protection and controls, and renewable energy. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, resourceful, well-organized, and a cooperative producer and manager that is able to meet project goals, schedules, and budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the development, design, and execution of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Execute business development activities to support the company's growth goals in addition to supporting an existing client network.
  • Develop project scopes, objectives, proposals, and budgets and effectively communicate with key stakeholders to include clients, project manager, engineers, and other members of the project team.
  • Maintain complicated schedules, develop project timelines, coordinate with subcontractors, and manage people and materials to complete jobs on schedule and within budget guidelines.
  • Act as the direct point of contact in communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assess and mitigate project risks in advance of detailed engineering efforts.
  • Prepare detailed models, power studies, and technical documents to present project design/feasibility findings to stakeholders.
  • Perform and/or check technical calculations and prepare project specifications.
  • Prepare reports, client communications, deliverables, etc. and consult with other internal partners as needed.
  • Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems of non-routine nature and develop effective solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • P.E. registration
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering consulting, power distribution, to include business development, client management, project management, design, and operations support.
  • Knowledgeable in the National Electric Code (NEC) and IEEE standards
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills: articulate, assertive, and confident.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects.
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
  • Ambitious and eager to grow.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated mentality.
  • Must have strong technical competency and analytical ability.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaborate with peers when appropriate.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Experience managing vendor and client payment terms to achieve positive cash flow.
  • Understanding of financial models and budget management.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in power system software such ETAP, SKM, CYME, PSS/E, PSCAD, etc. Not all are required.
  • Reasonably proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other industry-specific software.
