Ferguson is seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Business Development Manager to join our Industrial Fluid Sealing Team. This role will have dedicated office space at a fabrication center or branch location when not engaged in customer-facing activities.
Preferred: Candidates within commuting distance of one of our Fabrication Centers in the following locations:
  • Hampton, VA.
  • Minneapolis, MN.
  • Cincinnati, OH.
  • Houston, TX.
  • Portland, OR.

Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze business opportunities with the organization's strategic plans
  • Advise the planning and preparation of business proposals and make recommendations to senior management
  • Work closely with District Directors to map out opportunities and go-to-market strategies
  • Partner with local sales representatives, branch management, and district leadership to execute a coordinated fluid sealing sales strategy.
  • Focus will be placed on large single-site industrial customers and national enterprise accounts.
  • Lead all aspects of the development of key projects and be accountable for the successful closure of business deals
  • Responsible for the overall development, implementation, and progress of strategic business targets
  • Direct and coach lower-level professionals
  • Assist in developing processes to meet project needs and design projects that align with financial and operational criteria
  • Perform projects of complex scope
  • Prepare documents and materials (reports, presentations, information packages) for meetings and negotiations with potential clients and business partners
  • Forecast assigned brand shipments on a quarterly basis
  • Develop and implement product or sales initiatives
  • Maintain contact with key decision-makers both internally and externally

Qualifications:
Prior experience in industrial sales is preferred. A successful Business Development Manager will possess the following:
  • 2+ years of fluid sealing experience
  • Experience working with industrial customers within Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation markets, with a strong preference for Chemical and Refining end users
  • 3+ years of Business Development Management experience preferred
  • A strong sales background; industrial experience preferred
  • Competitive drive with a consultative, value-based selling approach
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and listening skills
  • Product and vendor knowledge required (or the ability to quickly learn)
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Role requires 50% travel

Pay Range:
Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
$4,124.70 - $13,933.70
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
