Job Title: Controls Systems Technician

Position Type:

Position Overview:

As a Controls Systems Technician you will be our point of contact to clients and execute design, programming, commissioning, technical support and project management services for building automation controls projects. In addition you will:

  • Direct the project preplanning process, accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects, develop schedules, anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks, and collaborate with project team to proactively resolve problems; sets objectives and goals with specific measures
  • Proactively monitor costs and react to variations quickly; monitor labor reporting system to effectively control productivity; schedule subcontractors; escalate problems to management
  • Evaluate scope changes, additional work orders and the client’s needs
  • Coordinate work with other trades, perform start-ups and commissioning as needed
  • Determine equipment and materials required for customer’s system performance and proactively identify problems
  • Provide technical guidance to diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupancy comfort
  • Troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules to identify concerns and determine corrective action
  • Ensure proper measurement and verification (M&V) equipment functionality, including accurate data recording and storage

Position Requirements:

· Must pass background check.

· Advanced written, verbal, customer service and relationship building skills.

· High level organizational skills.

· Flexible, willingness to be able to adapt to change.

· Ability to work well with others both internally and externally including in stressful situations.

· Proficiency in standard office computer programs such as MS Office 365.

· Knowledge of industry is recommended but not required.

  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.

· Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or similar experience.

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

· Understanding of operational concepts including planning, scheduling and logistics

· Ability to multi-task under pressure of multiple projects
