Job description

Job Title: Sr Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Sr Controls Engineer serves as the technical authority for controls architecture, design execution, and lifecycle support for liquid cooling and air movement products. This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex controls solutions, from requirements definition and risk assessment through detailed design, validation, commissioning support, and field issue resolution, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Sr Controls Engineer collaborates with product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales to set technical direction, improve engineering processes, and scale reusable platforms. Success in this role requires expert-level troubleshooting, strong system-level thinking, and the ability to mentor engineers/technicians and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for controls architecture and design execution.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of complex controls solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales to set technical direction.
  • Improve engineering processes and scale reusable platforms.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians while influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive controls engineering experience, including ownership of complete system deliveries.
  • Expert ability to design control systems across the full lifecycle with disciplined engineering practices.
  • Strong industrial networking experience, including network architecture, addressing, diagnostics, and interoperability with third-party devices.
  • Ability to lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across controls, instrumentation, electrical/power, and system interactions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with multiple PLC/HMI ecosystems and structured programming practices.
  • Experience with version control and code review workflows.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position with occasional travel to customers, which may occur 2-3 times per year. The company is growing and has recently added a second location.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
