Job description

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer specializing in Automation to support internal equipment, which will be installed and commissioned at various sites. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in Controls Engineering, particularly with custom automated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot internal equipment regularly on the floor.
  • Program PLCs using Siemens or Rockwell Automation.
  • Develop HMI/SCADA with WinCC or Ignition.
  • Engage in Robotics programming, specifically with Fanuc.
  • Design and interpret AutoCAD Electrical schematics.
  • Work with controls hardware such as sensors, remote IO, servos, VFDs, machine vision, and barcode readers.
  • Employ industrial networking protocols like Profinet and EtherCAT.
  • Travel up to 25% for equipment installation and commissioning at various locations.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in Controls Engineering for custom automated equipment.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens primary, Rockwell Automation secondary).
  • Experience with Robotics programming (Fanuc).
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA development (WinCC primary, Ignition secondary).
  • Knowledge of controls hardware and industrial networking protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical schematic design is a plus.
