Description:Company Overview:

Schmalz is the global leading supplier of Vacuum Technology, serving automation, material handling, and CNC clamping industries. Established in 1910 and headquartered in Glatten, Germany, Schmalz is a privately held multinational manufacturer with subsidiaries and sales partners in more than fifty countries.

Position Overview:

· Learn Schmalz Vacuum Automation & Handling Systems product ranges, general robotics, and automation processes in a manufacturing environment.

· Apply vacuum automation theory and practical experience to recommend safe and effective solutions for unique applications.

· Support end customers, distributors, sales engineers, and key account managers with application inquiries for vacuum automation.

· Test customer products with vacuum technology.

· Provide advanced quotations to customers and distributors.

· Utilize project management skills and Solidworks 3D CAD drawing skills to interpret data and manage system sales.

· Build rapport with outside sales engineers, key customers, and distributors.

· Support colleagues when necessary, including answering phones and assisting in other areas.

· Attend offsite training sessions, including those at the parent company.

· Travel to customer sites as projects require.

· Occasionally attend trade shows.

· Perform other duties as assigned such as costing analysis and providing marketing input.

Basic Qualifications:

· Associate’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Minimum of one to two years of experience as a Sales or Application Engineer.

· Industry expertise in technology, sales channels, business development, strategic thinking, and project execution.

· Superior communication skills and ability to work as part of a team or independently.

· Organizational and prioritization skills, proficiency in MS Office, sales contact management software, and adaptability to learn new computer systems.

· Experience with Solidworks / CAD is preferred.
