Job description

Description
The department of Epidemiology & Health Promotion at the NYU College of Dentistry is seeking an adjunct professor/instructor for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester, with opportunity for renewal. The course is "Biostatistics" and is offered as part of the MS program in Clinical Research. Biostatistics is a 3 credit course and is scheduled for one evening a week from 5:00PM to 730:PM. Alternative scheduling options are potentially available.
This course covers basic probability, descriptive and inferential statistics, and the role of biostatistics in the practice of clinical research. Specific attention will be given to common probability distributions in clinical research and medicine, t-tests, Analysis of Variance, multiple linear and logistic regression, categorical data analysis, and survival analysis.
Course enrollment is expected to be between 15-25 students. Materials (e.g., syllabus, presentations, assignments) used in previous offerings of the course are available, but faculty have freedom to develop and use new and additional materials as desired.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate salary range for this position is $75-$83. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Qualifications
An earned doctorate in a related field is required. Preference is given to interested adjuncts with a demonstrated history of clinical research and the clinical trials process.
