Job description

Viterbo University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Adjunct Instructor in Finance within the Dahl School of Business. This temporary part-time, non-tenure-track position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance, with the potential for both in-person and online instruction. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and recruits are ongoing.

Undergraduate and/or graduate finance courses, which may include:

o Financial Management

o Managerial Finance

o Financial Strategy and Capitalism

o Global Finance

o Banking, Financial Institutions, and Monetary Policy

o Spreadsheet Fundamentals

o Advanced Spreadsheet

o Advanced Excel

o MBA-level Financial Strategy or Analytics (Numbers that Move the World)

o Comprehensive Capstone

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-centered teaching, applied learning, and the mission of Viterbo University, a Catholic, Franciscan institution.


Minimum Academic Qualifications: Individuals who teach at the undergraduate level must hold a master's degree or higher in the discipline (finance) or subfield in which they teach.

Minimum Professional Experience: At least five years of professional experience in the field with demonstrated currency in the field at the time of appointment (work experience, publications, licensure, presentations, or equivalent within the last five years)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Deliver course materials in alignment with department standards and learning objectives.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, provide timely feedback, and assess student performance.
  • Adhere to academic policies and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in minimal departmental meetings or trainings as needed.

Applicants must upload a cover letter indicating the area of discipline, along with a current CV. If recommended for a position, official transcripts will be required before a contract is issued.
