Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center | Hanover, PA
Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a motivated and energetic Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility. This role supports the Director of Activities by helping plan, lead, and carry out engaging programs that meet the emotional, recreational, social, and spiritual needs of our residents.
Position Details
  • Full-Time: 9am-5pm
  • Every other weekend and holiday required
Responsibilities
  • Plan, lead, and assist with resident activities that promote socialization, creativity, exercise, and overall well-being
  • Motivate and encourage resident participation; confidently lead group and one-on-one activities
  • Assist residents with daily personal activities such as writing letters, making phone calls, and participating in programs
  • Escort residents to scheduled activities and events
  • Assist with resident progress documentation and activity attendance tracking
  • Support facility engagement efforts, including mail delivery, plant care, pet/fish care, newsletter preparation, fundraising, and PA announcements
  • Provide and supervise the use of craft supplies, materials, and equipment
  • Encourage residents to express creativity and maximize independence
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior long-term care or experience working with elderly or disabled populations preferred
  • Motivated, dependable, and able to independently lead activities
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
