Position Overview

Function Better Physical Therapy Services is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a hospital setting. As a vital member of our clinical team, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement tailored rehabilitation plans, focusing on enhancing patient mobility and overall quality of life.

About the Organization

With over 22 years of experience and a 5-star rating, Function Better Physical Therapy Services has built a stellar reputation in the community and among healthcare providers in Binghamton, New York. Our organization prides itself on providing personalized one-on-one therapy in a supportive environment. Led by a Combat Veteran who is also an author and inventor, we foster a culture that values mentorship and continuous learning, ensuring that all team members can grow and thrive in their careers.

Work Environment

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work onsite in a state-of-the-art hospital facility equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology. Your role will primarily involve interacting with patients in a compassionate and empowering manner, effectively contributing to their recovery process. This environment not only promotes collaboration with other healthcare professionals but also enhances the quality of care we can provide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing individualized Plan of Care (POC) for patients, ensuring compliance with treatment protocols and effective communication of patient progress.
  • Deliver hands-on manual therapy and functional exercise interventions to help patients regain strength and mobility, including assisting in gait training and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
  • Document patient care and treatment activities in an accurate and timely manner to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and facilitate effective billing practices.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals, to create a seamless care experience for patients.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding patient care and documentation, maintaining the highest standards of safety and ethics.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population requiring orthopedic rehabilitation, including post-operative patients, athletes recovering from injuries, and individuals managing chronic pain or mobility issues. By utilizing a functional approach, you will play a crucial role in helping these patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and reintegrate into daily activities.

Qualifications
  • NYS Licensure: Must possess a valid New York State license for Physical Therapy Assistants.
  • Accredited Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, ensuring both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Clinical and Business Acumen: An ability to balance patient-centered care with understanding the organizationโ€™s operational needs.
  • Positive Mindset: We value motivated individuals with excellent work ethic and a commitment to ethical practice.
  • Professional Development: A willingness to engage in continuous education and professional growth will be essential in this role.
Preferred Experience
  • Although not mandatory, sales experience is a positive addition to your profile; we offer training for candidates lacking experience in this area.
  • Hands-on skills in manual therapy techniques and a functional rehabilitation mindset are key characteristics we look for in an ideal candidate.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive yearly salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 60,000, with potential for productivity bonuses based on performance metrics.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options, ensuring you and your family have access to quality healthcare.
  • Generous paid time off policy, offering up to 120 hours annually, allowing you to balance work and personal life effectively.
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance of $1,000 annually, with no cap on the number of days off for education pursuits.
  • A 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match of 4%, supporting your long-term financial security.
Career Growth Opportunities

We are committed to the professional growth of our team members. Working with experienced clinicians, you will have access to mentorship programs, hands-on training, and opportunities to participate in workshops that cover both clinical skills and business aspects of healthcare.

Why Join Our Team

At Function Better Physical Therapy Services, you will be part of a positive, team-oriented environment where your contributions directly impact patient outcomes. Your commitment to providing compassionate care will not only help improve the lives of our patients but also contribute to an organization that prioritizes excellence in rehabilitation.
