Reports to: Athletic Director - Campus Principal
Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a motivated and student-centered Girls Head Soccer Coach to lead and develop the girls soccer program at the high school and/or middle school level. This position is responsible for building a competitive program that promotes athletic excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and academic success.
Primary Purpose
Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the girls soccer program in accordance with University Interscholastic League (UIL), Texas Education Agency (TEA), and district policies while supporting student-athlete development both academically and athletically.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate required
  • Valid coaching certification in accordance with UIL requirements
  • CDL or ability to obtain preferred

Special Knowledge / Skills:
  • Ability to organize and supervise a total soccer program
  • Knowledge of UIL rules, regulations, and athletic policies
  • Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, conditioning, strategy, and player development
  • Ability to develop and implement practice plans and game strategies
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
  • Ability to motivate students and build a culture of discipline, accountability, and teamwork

Experience:
  • Previous successful coaching experience in soccer preferred
  • Head coaching experience preferred
  • Experience working with secondary student-athletes preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Program Leadership
  • Organize, supervise, and lead all aspects of the girls soccer program
  • Establish and communicate program philosophy, expectations, and goals
  • Coordinate and support alignment between middle school and high school soccer programs
  • Promote good sportsmanship, character development, self-discipline, and teamwork

Coaching & Player Development
  • Develop and implement practice plans, conditioning programs, and game strategies
  • Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies necessary for student-athlete growth and team success
  • Evaluate player performance and support individual development
  • Encourage participation and growth within the soccer program

Student-Athlete Support
  • Monitor academic progress, eligibility, and conduct of student-athletes
  • Promote leadership, responsibility, and positive decision-making
  • Ensure supervision and safety of athletes during practices, games, travel, and events
  • Communicate expectations, training rules, and program guidelines to students and parents

Staff Leadership & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with assistant coaches and athletic staff to ensure consistency throughout the program
  • Support professional growth and communication among coaching staff
  • Work cooperatively with campus administration and the Athletic Director

Operations & Compliance
  • Assist with scheduling, transportation, tournaments, and athletic events
  • Ensure compliance with UIL, TEA, district, and athletic department policies
  • Maintain inventory, care, and security of equipment, uniforms, and facilities
  • Monitor locker rooms, practice areas, and athletic facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety

Community & Public Relations
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, booster clubs, and community members
  • Promote the soccer program within the school and community
  • Communicate schedules, events, and program information appropriately
  • Represent Greenville ISD and the athletic program in a professional manner

Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in professional development and coaching clinics
  • Support campus and district initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or campus administration

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise assistant coaches, student managers, and program volunteers as assigned
