ASSISTANT SOFTBALL COACH
DESCRIPTION:
To develop in each player, the basic skills of the sport that are fundamental to team success. To motivate players to excel at all times - during practice and in actual competition. To motivate players to develop a feeling of cooperation and teamwork among members of the team and staff. To recognize and develop special skill talents of players. To assist the Head Softball Coach as necessary with the program. The program is an extension of the classroom and coaches must handle their approach as teachers.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Softball Coach by directly training players, developing strategies, analyzing opponent's strengths and weaknesses, managing practice drills, providing feedback to players, and performing administrative tasks as directed by the Head Softball Coach to ensure overall success of the team all while upholding the team's values and promoting sportsmanship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Assistant Softball Coaching Experience is Required
  • Valid Driver's license
  • High School Diploma
  • State of Ohio Pupil Activity Permit
  • Federal and State Background check
  • Sport Medicine Certified as required by the Ohio High School Athletic Association
  • CPR, Concussion and any other required Training
  • Ability to be cooperative in working with players, parents, administrators, and community members
  • Knowledge of Cambridge City School District and Athletic Policies regarding students with respect to scholarship, personal conduct standards, health and safety factors
  • Must process the knowledge and the necessary skills of the sport
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Often subjected to extremes of cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees.
Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, and dust.
Exposure to body fluids, communicable diseases.
Travel between locations may cause exposure to hazardous driving and walking conditions.
