Job description

What You Will Do:
The position serves as patient transporter and imaging assistant in support of the patient experience. Assists the radiologists and technologists with patient care during the imaging process. Duties include: greeting patients and families, patient transport, coordinating radiology exams, stocking and supply management, filing and answering phones, and modality specific duties. Direct patient care responsibilities include: transporting patients to and from various imaging procedures, transferring patients on and off exam tables, compiling patient histories and assisting the technologists with their workflow.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate passion for customer service and a willingness to assist others within the department.
  • Resolve sensitive issues in a private setting. Follows appropriate guidelines, involves supervisor if necessary.
  • Answer and respond to telephone calls (multiple lines) in a professional, courteous and timely manner, taking clear and accurate messages and providing follow-up.
  • Provide support to technical staff by distributing pre-exam preps and communicating any patient information or scheduling issues that affect the performance of the exam in a timely manner.
  • Safely transport patient to and from radiology department selecting the appropriate transport equipment.
  • Assist technologist with room preparation as needed.
  • Assist technologist with proper patient positioning utilizing age appropriate technique/equipment including lift assistance.
  • Transport supplies and equipment; delivering items to appropriate areas or staff.
  • Stock linen and consumable supplies; maintain inventory of supplies, checking for outdated supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness of assigned equipment and rooms daily, or after each use.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Possess excellent communication skills and fosters a team approach to accomplish established department goals
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
