Summary:

The Lead Molecular Pathology Technician performs histopathology and molecular tissue assays in support of research studies evaluating disease pathology and therapeutic efficacy. Provides senior-level technical support in molecular pathology including tissue processing, histology, and molecular diagnostics for infectious disease research

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform tissue trimming, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
  • Conduct in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry.
  • Maintain accurate tissue logs and digital records.
  • Support necropsy operations and BSL-3/4 containment procedures.
  • Train junior technicians and maintain lab instrumentation.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong experience with histological and molecular staining.
  • Familiarity with digital pathology platforms.
  • Ability to follow biosafety and necropsy protocols.
  • Meticulous attention to quality and labeling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or histotechnology.
  • Minimum 5+ years in histology or pathology labs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required.
  • Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACTIVE SECRET is preferred
  • HT/HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $38.00 to $43.00 hourly.
