Position Overview

Sumaria Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support advanced MQ-9 weapons system engineering efforts at Wright-Patterson AFB. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership and engineering support for aircraft research, development, production, lifecycle acquisition, sustainment, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) activities. This position works directly with Government personnel, contractors, and program stakeholders to integrate new capabilities into the MQ-9 platform.

Responsibilities
  • Support engineering leadership in planning, executing, and managing systems engineering activities.
  • Provide technical expertise for aircraft research, development, acquisition, and sustainment efforts.
  • Analyze engineering issues and recommend technical solutions.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, engineering analyses, reports, change proposals, and requirements.
  • Support systems integration, hardware/software development, testing, configuration management, and quality assurance.
  • Provide engineering support for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) activities and resolve technical issues with Government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Assist with integration of new subsystems and mission capabilities into MQ-9 platforms.
  • Support integration of EO/IR, SIGINT, Electronic Warfare, and other payload systems.
  • Coordinate with Air Force TENCAP and other DoD organizations supporting MQ-9 mission requirements.
  • Assist with Airworthiness Certification documentation and engineering analyses.
  • Develop technical documentation including requirements, Statements of Work (SOWs), interface documentation, production specifications, and test documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and program management reviews.
  • Support resolution of operational system deficiencies and provide status briefings to Government leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12 + years experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Department of Defense (DoD) experience.
  • Experience supporting weapons systems engineering, systems integration, acquisition, and sustainment.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, technical documentation, testing, and configuration management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Government customers, contractors, and technical teams.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required.
Preferred Experience
  • MQ-9 Reaper platform experience.
  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program support.
  • Airworthiness Certification support.
  • Aircraft payload integration (EO/IR, SIGINT, Electronic Warfare).
  • Experience supporting Air Force acquisition programs.
