Job description

Job Summary: 

The Senior Engineer is a key individual in the engineering and manufacturing functions that has multiple roles to fill. The candidate must be able to work in a cross-functional team environment and has reach all over North America and international team members. The candidate shall work closely with the engineering, manufacturing, product support, and sales teams. The selected candidate will provide guidance and design support to keep our organization running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with production team and support supply chain challenges, functional challenges, and quality questions.
  • Supporting sales and dealer application pre-sale questions.
  • Evaluation of reported product issues including designing solutions to limit our warranty exposure as well as cost reduction efforts.
  • Manage compliance projects including CE, UL, and CEC (California energy commission)
  • Manage documentation for engineering functions including ECN, new product release, and MRP systems.
  • Ability to create and manage department processes including safety, testing, validation, compliance, and building needs.
  • Create specifications, participate in design review committees and test of products to support engineering in development of new products.
  • Travel may be required 1-2 times per month.
  • All-other duties assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience working with similar products or in related markets, in particular, Electronics compliance, hardware design, or document control.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications:

The Senior Engineer should possess social skills coupled with an in-depth knowledge of industrial batteries, battery chargers, and fleet management products.  Some of the engineering disciplines include hardware design, lab testing and validation, firmware design, mechanical aptitude, and documentation. The Senior Engineer must be able to work efficiently to minimize customer downtime and maintain business relationships. The ability to lead production and sales associates with sound engineering fundamentals is required.
