Assistant Director – Early Childhood Education
The Learning Experience – Pewaukee, WI
Salary: $48,000–$55,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Take the Next Step in Early Childhood Leadership
The Learning Experience – Pewaukee is looking for a motivated Assistant Director to join our center leadership team.
This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator or emerging childcare leader who is ready to expand their impact beyond one classroom. Working alongside the Center Director, you'll help support our teachers, families, enrollment efforts, and daily center operations while maintaining a positive, high-quality environment for our little learners.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Center Director to support daily center operations
  • Maintain compliance with Wisconsin childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of teaching staff
  • Assist with staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and maintaining required ratios
  • Provide classroom observations, coaching, and ongoing support to teachers
  • Promote high-quality implementation of The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Build strong relationships with enrolled families and address questions or concerns
  • Conduct tours and guide prospective families through the enrollment process
  • Support enrollment growth, family retention, and overall center goals
  • Assist with center events, community outreach, and local partnerships
  • Help foster a positive culture where teachers feel supported and accountable
Ideal Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early childhood education program
  • Early childhood leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting teaching teams
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable conducting tours and building relationships with prospective families
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
  • Must meet applicable Wisconsin requirements for the position
